MY STORY

I was born and raised on Long Island.   I spent most of my career working in Human Resources in New York City.  Though that was my career, my true passion has always been designing and decorating.  I would find myself coming home after work and staying up late into the night painting an old piece of furniture, decorating my house for the holidays or remodeling an entire room.

About three years ago, I decided to leave my job in the city and take a little time off.   I had recently met a great guy, Matt, (who would later turn out to be my great husband), and I wanted to spend less hours at work and more hours at home with our family.

So I sold my home, and my kids and I moved in with Matt.  He had just purchased a new house and was in the market for an Interior Designer.   I truly believe that everything happens for a reason and, bingo, we were a perfect match.

Over the next few months, I redesigned and redecorated every room in his house.  When we sold his home two years later, I knew I was on to something when each realtor that came through his front door asked me what staging company I had used.  All were surprised that it wasn't staged...it was just well designed, decorated and comfortable.  Matt's home sold after just a few days on the market and we knew that its interior design was a major factor in the quick sale, especially when the new owners purchased most of his furniture and decor.  I ended up with a handful of realtors' business cards, with each realtor asking me to contact them when I opened my own interior design business.

When Matt and I decided to get married, we knew we wanted a new home for our combined family of seven.  I had always lived by the water and really wanted to move back near it.   never did I dream I would get the chance to design our family home, literally from the ground up.

In 2018, we purchased a home right across from the great south bay and began a full remodel and renovation.  we worked together with an architect to get our initial ideas on paper.  After that,  I spent many nights at the kitchen table with tracing paper, completing the exterior design, and then deciding on the placement, size and layout of every room.  Over the course of the next year, I selected every tile, beam, fixture, finish and furnishing.  And so, before I even realized it, my next career had begun.  I even made the decision to go back to school to pursue my interior design certification.

We now happily live here with our revolving door of children and our rhodesian ridgeback, cooper.
